At Frölunda HC’s training facility, Frölunda Borg, over 150 players move through the same environment every day - men, women, and academy players alike. Coordinating training, performance, health, and communication across such a large organization requires clarity, structure, and trust in a system that holds it all together.
For Frölunda HC, that system is XPS.

As one of Europe’s most successful hockey clubs - with four Champions League titles and the highest number of NHL draft picks outside North America - Frölunda HC has long focused on player development. But as the organization grew, so did the complexity of managing information across departments.
XPS has helped us integrate a lot of things into one place - readiness tracking, scheduling and injury management.
- Erik Jansson, Performance Director, Frölunda HC
Before implementing XPS, much of the daily workflow relied on separate tools. Training plans lived in documents, exercise videos were shared via YouTube links, and important information often passed verbally between staff. This made alignment difficult.
Information was getting lost in translation between the medical team and the coaching staff. With XPS, this is no longer a problem.
- Erik Jansson, Performance Director, Frölunda HC
Today, XPS acts as a central hub for operations. Coaches start their day by checking the calendar, reviewing session plans, and aligning with colleagues - all in one place. Double bookings are avoided, facilities are used efficiently, and everyone works from the same plan.

For the players, the change is just as noticeable. Every session, workout, or individual program is available to the players directly in the mobile app.
I see exactly what sessions we have, log my weights, see my test results, and always know if I get better which is all you need as an elite athlete. It’s a good app to use.
- Dominik Egli, Defender, Frölunda HC
Weekly performance tests, such as jump tests, are automatically tracked over time. This gives players immediate feedback on their development and creates transparency between athletes and staff.
“It’s nice to see if you’re actually getting better,” Dominik adds. “You have all the information you need in one place.”

One of the biggest gains for Frölunda HC has been the integration between performance and medical departments. Rehab plans, injury status, and return-to-play timelines are all handled inside XPS Health.
Every morning, Rasmus Bergström, Rehab Coordinator, updates players’ rehab plans so they know exactly what to do when they arrive.
I communicate through XPS Health with the coaches, the GM, and the medical team, so everyone sees the same player status.
- Rasmus Bergström, Rehab Coordinator, Frölunda HC
With the introduction of the new XPS Health iPad app, injury updates can even be registered during games - instantly notifying all relevant staff. “That kind of communication used to take hours or days,” Rasmus explains. “Now it takes seconds.”

For Frölunda HC, data is not about replacing experience - it’s about supporting better decisions. Test results are structured into endurance, power, speed, and strength categories, giving coaches a clear overview of each player’s profile.
We’re data-informed, not data-driven. But without data, it’s easy to rely on bias. With XPS, we can see training load and intensity clearly and make better decisions around training.”
- Erik Jansson, Performance Director, Frölunda HC
That shared visibility also sparks better conversations across the staff. If an issue appears in the data, coaches and performance staff can address it early - together.

By centralizing planning, communication, performance data, and medical information, XPS has become an essential part of Frölunda HC’s daily operations.
It helps the club stay aligned, efficient, and focused on what matters most: developing players and supporting them at every stage of their journey. For an organization built on long-term success, having everything connected makes all the difference.
